If this was your Grandmother would you stand there or beat/ kill the cops ?
Too many bystanders looking at shit happen , and letting it go. It matters not if she had a knife, or a gun, the shit was wrong.
One day they will beat or try to kill you. Better start preparing for the day.
police should have the death penalty.........inflicted on them.
Brother Kamau Makesi-Tehuti added this commentary today:
"This is news footage, right here," the voice on the video observes.
The voice belongs to Stan Brown, a 29-year-old Columbus resident who now says he regrets his YouTube stardom.
"It's nothing to be proud of," he said. "Some people are talking out their race hatred and others think it's funny. I feel bad for the officer and the family."
Brown, who is black, said he thought the woman was taken down too roughly, and the situation probably could have been solved with patience. But he attributed the officer's action to poor decision-making, with no connection to race.
Holly Hollingsworth, spokeswoman for the state attorney general's office, said she could not say whether excessive force is covered at the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy. She said each situation is different and there are no specific guidelines.
After a Columbus police officer fatally shot a knife-wielding man in 2004, officials invited reporters to a demonstration to show how quickly an officer can be stabbed if he or she hesitates.
Zitzke recommended that people watch the video without sound to avoid the commentary. Viewers, he said, will see an officer responding to a complaint about a woman with a knife on Aug. 1.
The officer approached slowly, asking Dotson to drop the knife. When the woman didn't release the weapon, Scott pulled her to the ground and pried it from her grip. Dotson struggled, and blood began spreading from beneath her head as a crowd of onlookers rushed to help.
Police said Dotson has Alzheimer's and lives at a nursing home. She was not charged with a crime.
Dotson, who had been left in the car while her daughter went into the store, was treated at Mount Carmel East for a head injury."
